Thai binh

Thái Bình (or Thaibinh) is a coastal eastern province in the Red River Delta region of Vietnam, named after the Vietnamese name for the Pacific Ocean: Thái Bình Dương.

It is about 18 km from Nam Ðịnh, 70 km from Hải Phòng, and 110 km from Hà Nội. Thái Bình has a city called Thai Binh city (Thành pho Thái Bình) and seven districts: Quỳnh Phụ, Hưng Hà, Thái Thụy, Ðông Hưng, Vũ Thư, Kiến Xương and Tiền Hải.

Keo pagoda is in Thai Binh province, 9,5km from Thai Binh.

The annual Keo Pagoda Festival is held in honour of Duong Khong Lo, a Buddhist dignitary who is said to have cured the illness of King Le Thanh Tong. The festival begins with a procession and three days of celebrations, cultural performances, traditional customs and religious ceremonies ensue
