INFORMATION:
Internet access: Internet access now is available in many hotels, restaurants or cafe internets around the town,usualy for 6000 VND per hour. In some hotels,it’s free of charge.
Money: Most of hotels or restaurants in Sapa accept US dollar,however,you can change to VND at a small bank in Sapa. There’s only a nearest ATM in Lao Cai. Travellers chequess can be also changed at some hotels like Victoria hotel or Royal hotel but the commision is around 6%.
Post: There’re two post offices in Sapa but it’s better to do all post things in Hanoi as it’s better quality and safer.
SIGHTS:
Fansipan ( Vietnamese words: Phansiphang- Phansifan-fansiphang- phan si phăng)
Fansipan is the highest peak of Vietnam,which at 3143m. It’s belong to Hong Lien Son moutains that surrounding Sapa. We can reach Fansipan on foot and it will take at least two days to submit the peak for experieced hikers. There is no ropes or technical climbing skills are needed, just endurance, so you need to be self-sufficient. This means taking a sleeping bag,waterproof tent, food,stove,raincoat or poncho, compass and other miscellaneous survival gear. However, if you book this tour with a travel agent, they will prepare evething to you such as: equipment, calping, porter, cook, water .... It’s very wet, can be perilously slippery and generall cold, so you must be prepared in advanced.
Tram Ton Pass:
At 1900m, Tram Ton Pass is the highest mountain pass in Vietnam that is located 14 km from Sapa, 3 km farther toward Lai Chau from Thac Bac. On the Sapa side of the mountain , the weather is often cold, foggy and generally nasty. Drop down a few hundred metres below the pass on the Lai Chau side ad it will often be sunny and warm.
Thac Bac ( Silver Waterfall):
It’s about 5km towards Sapa with the height of 100m, it’s a big one and the loop track is steep and spectacular.
