  Saigon to Angkor Wat by Waterway - V13-4- 10 days

Vietnam and Cambodia have not only land cross border but also have waterway border.

Take 10 days along the Mekong Delta river thus visit the local destinations, withness the living of the people. You will have a wonderful trip !

 

Day 01: Arrival Saigon
Meet and transfer to your hotel.
Overnight at Renaissance .

 

Day 02: Saigon(B)
At leisure.
Overnight at Renaissance hotel.


Day 03: Saigon-Cantho (B,L)

This morning travel south into the heart of the Mekong Delta. En route, pass farmers tending

their fields and drying their produce on the sides of the road. On arrival at Can Tho check into

your beautiful French colonial style hotel situated on the banks of the Mekong River. In the afternoon

relax around the Victoria Can Tho's swimming pool, on the tennis court, at the terrace bar or take the complimentary shuttle boat into Can Tho town.

Day 04: Cantho- CaiBe - VinhLong  -  SaDec - LongXuyen (B,L,D)
08h00 Leave for Caibe.
10h30 Embarking the MIENTAY boat. Explore the lively CaiBe floating market, visit the handicraft village of the locals. Sightseeing the old house and sample various tropical fruits. A small boat trip through rivulets of AnBinh, Binhhoaphuoc islands. A pleasant walk on the footpaths of the village to discover tropical fruit orchards and bonsai garden. Then return the luxury boat.
12h00 Boat cruise to LongXuyen via SaDec. Lunch on board.
16h00 arrive SaDec, walking for visit the town where Marguerite Duras's famous novel The Lover was set and made famous by the film L?Amant, the Marguerite Duras story. Visit a bonsai garden by the river.
18h00 Leisurely cruise up the Mekong River to Longxuyen, enyoying sunset scenery and aperitifs on rooftop. . Dinner and nite on board.

Day 05:LongXuyen  -  ChoMoi   -   HoaHao (B,L,D)
06h00 Floating market noise wake you up, contemplate sunrise while having breakfast on board. We visit Longxuyen floating market by small boats darting through the water as vendors buy and sell their fruit. Visit  a crocodile farm and promenade on OngHo island, see daily life of the local people who live on both sides of the Mekong (Bassac), and small arroyos on the island.
12h00 return to MienTay boat, cruise continue to HoaHao village. Lunch on board.
The boat stop over for pleasant meeting, walking and sightseeing.
20h00 Nite at HoaHao (ChoMoi district.) Dinner and overnight on board.   

Day 06: Chau Doc (B,L)
07h00 Cruise to ChauDoc. We cruise through floating fish-farm villages producing tons and tons of fish beneath hundreds of floating houses.
10h00 Arrive in ChauDoc. Promenade around the ethnic Cham village with famous Mubarak Mosque and observe local women at their traditional weaving.
12h00 Return the boat for lunch.
13h00 disembark
Tonight we stay overnight at Overnight at  Victoria Chau Doc hotel, deluxe river view room
 
Day 07: Chau Doc - boat to Phnompenh (B)
This morning board the Victoria Sprite boat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penhdeparting from the private jetty outside the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel. The boat takes us  along the Mekong River. It continues on to the Vietnamese (Vinh Xuong) - Cambodian (Kaom Samnar) border and then to Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia. The journey takes approximately 4 hours. Arrival transfer our hotel in  Phnompenh, the capital of Kingdom of Cambodia. A visit to Phnom Penh is a very interesting experience indeed. It is a city with an interesting pulse and it gives you a very true taste of Asia. We  will visit the Wats Phnom, National museum, silver Pagoda and Royal Palace. Overnight at Amanjaya hotel in Phnom Penh
 
Day 08: Phnompenh  boat to Siemriep (B)
This morning there will be a transfer to Phompenh port for the boat ride to Siemriep. The boat winding our way on Tonlesap river, taking in such spectacular view of rural life on water. Arrival Siemriep, transfer to Angkor village resort. Visit to the Angkor Wat Temple before making our way to the summit Phnom Bakheng Temple to watch the sunset. Tonight we will enjoy diner with traditional Khmer folk performance of Apsara.

Day 09: Siemriep - Angkor Wat (B,D)
Today will embark on an elephant ride to tour of Angkor Wat and  Angkor Thom. This will include the South Gate, Bayon, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. From here we will continue Bantaey Srei and Bantaey Kdei and especially the newly discovered Beng Mealea temple, the temple of thousand lingas.
 Diner and overnight at Angkor Village Resort,deluxe room
 
Day 10: Departure (B)
At leisure until the departure transfer to airport for the flight home.
